How It Works

From your first conversation to a fully managed digital infrastructure.

Every Opyx engagement follows the same structured process. There are no surprises, no unexpected decisions, and no points where the work simply stops and you are handed back a set of keys. The process is designed around the reality that most businesses coming to us have a digital infrastructure that needs proper assessment before anything else can happen.

Step 1 - The Infrastructure Audit

Every engagement begins with a paid Infrastructure Audit (£250 + VAT). This is a full written assessment of your existing digital presence: hosting environment, DNS configuration, email authentication, Cloudflare status, WordPress health, security posture, and Core Web Vitals performance.

The audit produces a written report, typically 12–20 pages, that documents every risk, every gap, and every opportunity. You receive this report regardless of whether you proceed with Opyx. The £250 audit fee is deducted from your project setup cost if you do.

“The audit is not a sales tool. It is a professional assessment. Most clients are surprised by what it reveals — not because we have found something extraordinary, but because nobody had ever looked before.”

Step 2 - Proposal and Scoping

Following the audit, we produce a detailed proposal based on the findings. This covers the recommended service tier, the specific build and migration scope, the timeline, and the full cost breakdown. There are no hidden fees and no items that appear later in an additional invoice.

For clients with existing sites that can be migrated, we assess whether migration or a clean rebuild is the right approach. In most cases, a properly documented clean build on the Opyx stack is lower risk and better value than migrating a poorly configured legacy site.

Step 3 - Build and Migration

Once the proposal is accepted and the setup fee is received, the build begins. A typical build takes three to six weeks depending on scope and complexity. During this period, your existing site remains live without disruption.

The build process includes:

  1. Provisioning your dedicated server environment and IP address
  2. Configuring your Cloudflare account, WAF rules, and DDoS protection
  3. Building or migrating your WordPress site to the Opyx stack
  4. Configuring Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, including DNS, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC
  5. Setting up monitoring, daily backups, and security alerting
  6. Pre-launch testing including load speed, form submission, email delivery, and mobile rendering

Step 4 - Go-Live

Go-live involves a DNS cutover that redirects traffic to the new infrastructure. We schedule this for a low-traffic period and manage the entire process. For most sites, there is no visible downtime. DNS propagation typically takes two to four hours globally.

On go-live day, we monitor the new infrastructure continuously for the first 24 hours and provide you with a confirmed go-live report once all systems are verified.

Step 5 - Ongoing Managed Service

From go-live, your monthly managed service begins. This is where the Opyx model is most different from a standard web agency relationship. We do not wait for you to raise a support ticket. We monitor proactively.

Every month, your managed service includes:

  • Security monitoring and threat response via Cloudflare
  • WordPress core, plugin, and theme updates
  • Daily automated backups with off-site storage
  • Performance monitoring against Core Web Vitals benchmarks
  • Monthly performance and security report delivered to you
  • Allocated update hours (per your plan tier) for content and functional changes
  • Direct contact support within your plan’s guaranteed response time

Step 6 - Quarterly Review (Growth and Enterprise)

Growth and Enterprise tier clients receive regular reviews. These are not check-in calls. They are working sessions that review your performance data, identify improvement opportunities, and plan the next quarter’s development priorities.

Enterprise clients also receive quarterly technical SEO audits and Google Ads performance reviews as part of their plan.

The bottom line

Most web agencies build something and move on. The Opyx model is built around the assumption that the build is the beginning, not the end. The value of your infrastructure is not in what it looks like on launch day. It is in how reliably it performs six months and three years later. That is what we are here to ensure.

Ready to get started?

Every Opyx engagement begins with an Infrastructure Audit. A professional assessment, not a sales call.

The audit takes 2–3 business days. You receive a written report regardless of whether you proceed with us. We take on a maximum of five new client partnerships each year. If the timing is right for your business, starting with an audit is the first step.
